Tanda Titik

with 4 comments

Inconsistent Ignorance

with 6 comments

In these new days,
Do you see disappointment all over my face?
Or do you see grace?
Are you amazed?

Sometimes I do holy, sometimes I do sin
Riding in the trolley, the devil just grin
Corrupted by the society
I live my life inconsistently

“Ride the snake”, said Jim
“Ride the Jaguar”, said the man in green
Don’t know what to choose
Maybe I better do the blues

The coffee is black and the milk is white
To live is a drag, but to die is a fright
Don’t know what to choose
Maybe I better lose

Two Decades

with 4 comments

Yes, the big bang has already happened and killed tyrannosaurus and all its kind.

Yes, Adam and Eve have eaten the forbidden fruit.

Yes, Noah’s ark has left the shore.

Yes, Jesus of Nazareth has been crucified.

Yes, the last prophet of Islam is dead.

Yes, Isaac Newton has proved that the earth is round.

Yes, Albert Einstein has his own theory of relativities.

Yes, Hiroshima and Nagasaki has exploded.

Yes, Mark David Chapman has shot John Lennon.

Yes, the disco has ruled the world.

Yes, the teenage angst of grunge has also ruled the world.

Yes, Saddam Hussein has been hung.

Yes, the economy is such an ass.

Yes, a black man has been chosen as a president.

But no, the world has not ended, yet.

It’s not too late to change for the better.

Happy two decades, moron.

Really? Am I that old?

Hampa, Kosong, Nihil, Nol

with 4 comments

Hampa. Aku serupa dupa, yang menyala tanpa apa-apa.

Kosong.

The Youth is Starting to Change

leave a comment »

MGMT. Anybody ever heard of this band? This is a good band. They have been dubbed as the leader of neo psychedelia movement that has been around these days. But for me, the psychedelic formulas in this band are just in their fashion style and in their lyrics, which sometimes are related to mysticity and counter culture. For me, the music itself is electronic funk. Just listen to tracks like Time to Pretend, Electric Feel, Kids, and many more that are available on their debut album, which was smartly titled Oracular Spectacular.

Well, my intention at writing this post is not to talk about MGMT’s album or even MGMT as a band. I want to talk about MGMT’s lyrics. Specifically, their song that is called Youth. The lyrics from this song is very suitable for people like me and anyone who is at their final year at college. Why? Because this lyrics talked about our youth. Our final moment at college life. Our final moment at being a youth before we graduate from college. Our final moment before we let our idealism goes away. Our final moment before…well, before everything gets worse. But hopefully we could make it through.

this is a call of arms to live and love and sleep together
we could flood the streets with love or light or heat whatever
lock the parents out, cut a rug, twist and shout
wave your hands
make it rain
for stars will rise again

the youth is starting to change
are you starting to change?
are you?
together

in a couple of years
tides have turned from booze to tears
and in spite of the weather
we could learn to make it together

the youth is starting to change
are you starting to change?
are you?
together

the youth

It’s an Orgasmic World

with 15 comments

This is an orgasmic world. Yes, it is.

This is an orgasmic world. There are many things in the world that are worth exploring, worth touching, worth feeling, and then finally it will makes you excited.

This is an orgasmic world. But like any orgasmic experience, you will get tired after you experienced it.

This is an orgasmic world. Even though you will get tired after it, you’ll want more.

This is an orgasmic world. You’ll experience those exciting feelings once again.

This is an orgasmic world. You will once again get tired because of the exciting feelings.

This is an orgasmic world. You still want more.

This is an orgasmic world. Another exciting experience is ended.

This is an orgasmic world. You still get tired, but this time you will be very tired and you will sleep.

Is that an orgasmic world too? Who knows.
